Cypress Railings

Updated: May 16, 2019

Building: Castle Ballroom, also known as Cave Hall.

Location: 2839 Olive Street in midtown St. Louis MO.

Architect: John D. Paulus

Built: 1908

Demolished: 2014

Currently: Vacant Lot

It is believed these were originally from a river boat because of the wood used, style and age. We have several sections available.

Price: $950 per section.

Castle Ballroom was owned by Herman Albers and Cornelius Ahren. The club hosted acts like Duke Ellington in November 1939, and Fletcher Henderson. Count Basie remembered playing at The Castle in the late 1940’s. Miles Davis auditioned in front of the evening’s audience in 1943. Photo credits: stltoday.com, buildstlouis.net & riverfronttimes.net
