Bacchus is the Roman god of wine, agriculture, fertility, and revelry, and the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Dionysus. He is known for his connection to ecstatic rituals, intoxication, and the duality of wine, which brings both joy and madness. Born to the mortal Semele and the god Jupiter(Zeus), Bacchus is often depicted with a thyrsus, a pinecone-topped staff, and surrounded by followers like Maenads and Satyrs. Bacchus knew how to party!
